Okanagan Life..

A few months ago we came to a decision.. we had to change up our winter advertisements from our usual  Bella Notte beds to include more of what we are about.
"We are more than just a bedding store"

After considering our direction we decided to contact one of our sweetest shoppers and see if she was interested in a photo session.
We dressed her in a Bella Lulu Tutu and Baby Wisp fascinators, behind are our Thomas Paul decorative  pillows and in the final image she's wearing a Filson Mackinaw hat.
Would just like to Thank her for model behaviour and a really fun afternoon!

a few of our favourite things - staff picks

This is Kandace's compilation.
Didn't have to be asked twice - a quick pull from around the store..
Look at my favourites!
The wool mohair throw in a heather grey spells cozy for me.
Kusmi tea Prince Vladimir **** deliciousness.
The wooden cannister would be best filled with bonbons :P
I'm a big fan of roses and this soap has that quintessential rose scent ~ it's lovely.
I can never be warm enough so the garneau slippers are perfect for me.

One of our favourite new companies, Pink Door from Vancouver.  The packaging is stunning and the product  divine.  Linda's favourite scent is Sparkle, a combination of citrus, cucumber, jasmine, pineapple, blackberry and champagne.  We carry soap, bath salts and candles...all products are small batch and numbered and signed by the artist.  Perfection!

Hiding on the right hand side of this photo, Como decanter and glasses from Roost.  For some reason, this platter with linear fish image calls out to me.

Pheasant feather balls in this beautifully shiny reindeer bowl....perfect for the season.

This is precisely why crystal on a chandelier is worth every penny ~ look at the light refraction all over that wall. So beautiful! I've loved this chandy a long time!

Our super fun product from Izola out of Brooklyn.
We carry their soaps, soap dishes, laundry bags, etc.  Great retro feel.

Villa in the Mist

Last Fall we fell in all sorts of love with Revelle's 'Paisley' a sateen 300 thread count duvet. This Fall they've come back with a light wash version with a bit of warmth. 'Villa Mist' has caught our eye this season and we think it will do wonders for a quiet bedroom retreat!

we've recently restocked and brought back..

the muslin tea bag boxes.
Something new for us are the tubes of 5 Russian Blends & 5 Green Teas - perfect little packs for tea lovers.

letting you in on a little secret..

When our Revelle rep was in a few weeks back he showed us these new sheets.
580  Thread count 100% Giza Egyptian Cotton or as I like to say buttah! (butter)
I purchased them {in dove} for our guest room but couldn't resist and spent the night in luxury.
We might have to rethink the guest room!
They are really nice!

Warm Thoughts

It has happened, summer has ended.  I know this because I am sitting with my second cup of coffee of the morning, decorating magazines scattered about, flannel robe on.......no coffee on the deck this Sunday
morning!

However, September in the Okanagan is one of my favourite times of the year.....warm days, cool evenings, lots of fruits and veggies being harvested, grapes ready to be picked...aahh.

The season is changing in the shop as well.  Throws, jammies, candles, and cozy bedding, all of these products, and more, are arriving on a daily basis right now (Kandace and I spent 2 days pricing Christmas last week).  We are armed and ready.

To start off the season we are planning a fun evening of bed making in the store on Thursday, October 6th @ 7pm. We'll explain the benefits of using down and cotton, talk about coverlet vs duvet cover and the benefits of silk duvets, while we put together beds using products from St. Geneve, Dwell, Revelle and Bella Notte.  If you would like to join us, tickets are on sale at the store, with partial proceeds going to Sun FM's Have a Heart Telethon.  Should be lots of fun.  Nighcaps and bedtime snacks will be provided!

We were asked by the Kelowna Art Gallery to assist with decorating for their annual fundraiser Seeing Red and White, October 22nd.  We are happy to help out for such a good cause.

Lots happening in Novermber as well...will update you at a later date.

Be sure to check out our Facebook page regularly as we showcase new product almost daily.

Keep cozy.

Kandace's photo of Dwell's Batavia in Dove is stunning!  This is a quietly, beautiful bed accented with Dwell's metallic toss pillows.  The pallet headboard finishes this off perfectly.  Voila!

'Pre de Provence'

 {the french do it best with their beautifully milled and packaged soaps}
I have the pink one in the top right resting in my en-suite soap dish at home. :)
Its beautiful and until I can bring myself to use it I will enjoy the wafting fragrance of L'ondine.
It might be the one you smell as you come along side first but right behind it is La Barque a fruity passionfruit that cannot be compared to.
