woodland cabin or castle...

Our front window displays suitable decor for both... When arranging the store last week it was hard to pick  just which section I'd like to do.
in the end I was assigned this and boy was it fun!
{not shown but probably the neatest things up there are battery powered willow lit branches}
34 little buds bursting with white light ~ neat on a fireside mantle or entryway console!
natural and white linen aprons, table runners, & napkins by Linen Way are another thing i'd like to make sure you don't miss out on either.

so, we know it's only the middle of november, but, CHRISTMAS!  we worked like little elves for two days, changing the store around completely, adding glitz and glitter to every nook and cranny (and went home covered in it).  and if we do say so ourselves, it looks beautiful - and it seems you think so, too!  we had a very busy day yesterday at our annual christmas open house.  honestly, if you weren't there yesterday, you should probably come down soon, because things were flying off the shelves.  a few of our favourites that are sure not to last very long: handmade marshmallows and s'mores from butter bakery in vancouver, paddywax library candles, votivo's christmas candles, packaged in beautiful silver hollywood regency-esque boxes, colourful tutus for little babies, and everything from our rustic front window.

indian cotton placemats, napkins, runners, oven mitts, tea towels, and aprons by simrin.  three colours and patterns to choose from - too cute!

once again a stroke of genius - within the last week there have been a few such occasions.  after yet another rearrangement of the store we are showcasing our most lovely bedding on a wall with lots of room - more due to arrive tomorrow.  these shelves will be even more loaded with delights.

wonderful new products

so many beautiful new things in our store for the fall and winter season......from france, lothantique products including gorgeous soaps, bubble bath and room sprays.  all beautifully packaged as well as beautifully scented.  a very special treat!

fabulous wool throws and wraps from stansborough out of new zealand.  these totally eco friendly products are created from natural grey wool from a rare purebred sheep with fine soft lustrous silky blue/grey wool.  produced on historic 1890's looms or knitted/felted with the greatest care, treat yourself to a look/feel of these beautiful pieces.

KAS bedding from australia - beautifully bright and fun patterns, complete with accent pillows and throws.  a fun, affordable addition to our bedding line.

funky new lighting from nuevo including a dramatic large dome light, visible in our window. 

next month: CHRISTMAS arrives at olive & elle - we can't wait!  plans are underway...

rainbow hues

we are too often told it's hard to find bedding in this town- olive & elle to the rescue!  bella notte alone has 21 fabulous colours to chose from. new for fall is crimson - a deep rich hue to warm you up this winter.

habidecor makes an interesting and varied assortment of bathroom rugs that are made to last - we have some in store and a catalogue full for special order

ladies and gentlemen, presenting...  adele fine bedding in charcoal and pistachio freshly made up for fall.  we paired the two with charcoal silk velvet quilted euros and dawson linen shams in pistachio.  above the bed we positioned some of our new black metal retro-esque candle holders with a few other fine things - lovely.

we've restocked robes and sleepwear - uh huh they are lovely!  gorgeous colour selection of linen robes from bella notte as well as giza egyptian cotton night shirts from st. geneve.  soon to follow, soft and cozy organic flannel robes from dormisette out of germany....

whisper linen scarves - just the perfect fall accessory.  our favourite is 'pebble,' third from the right... but they are all gorgeous.

midnight moods...

cocktail napkins created by ontario artist avril loreti.  we carry her designer chair series & wine rings...  a few more designs are in store - but we'll save those for another time.

bedspreads are back! simplifying your life - reducing the need for dust ruffles...  bella notte has a few gorgeous styles to chose from including whisper linen shown here in flax, under we have their quilted velvet coverlet in champagne.  pretty amazing!

also, our builder has done it... he's created the perfect mantle shelf
I love it but then it was my little nudge.

iron clad

though this is hardly an adequate photo, check out the newest creation from our resident table master.  reclaimed fir planks are perched securely atop repurposed pipes that form a pair of triangles at their crux. it's a really a beautiful statement of craftsmanship.  and, though it will comfortably seat eight, it's great for small spaces as the base of the table takes up very little visual space.  we're totally enamoured of it.
